Cousin Seren

Two Saturdays ago we went to my cousin's little girl's 1st birthday party. It was fun to see and spend time with some family and to see how much these two girls have changed in the last year.

Here they are just a few weeks after Seren was born. . .

And one year later. . .

We're Going on a Trip!

I can't say vacation because I know that it wont be a vacation. My idea of vacation is being able to get away, have some fun, and relax. I know there will be plenty of the fun part but the relaxing part mostly likely will not happen. But that's okay.

Peanut and I leave tomorrow for my good ol' hometown with my mom. We will be meeting Luke at the cabin on Wednesday. Spending a few nights there with all of my family (including extended) then going to Luke's hometown to spend some time with his family.

I really think we're crazy trying to take Peanut anywhere for more than one night but we're doing it anyway! We haven't taken her ANYWHERE overnight, besides the hospital, since she was 3 months old!

This is for sure going to interesting so wish us luck!

Peanut Update

We had another doctor's appointment on Tuesday and Peanut's doing really well! The doctor and nurses just kept commenting on how big she's gotten and how much better she looks and acts. A couple more meds where discontinued so we're down to six meds and a multivitamin! And she continues to grow! She's 21 lbs and 29 in.

(Peanut drinking from her sippy this morning. After not getting anything through the night she was starving! She drank a whole 50 ml! Way to go Pea!)

At last month's appointment the doctor told me to only give 400 ml of her fluid at night and give her 400 during the day in whatever form we could get it in. Which meant the baby puree food counted as fluid! At this appointment the doctor was shocked that Peanut would eat 400 or more worth of baby food. It made her think that maybe she just prefers the thicker consistency. So we're going to work with the dietitian and try some more things so that we can hopefully get all of Peanut's fluid requirements by mouth but still get all the needed nutrients and get rid of the feeding tube! I know this is going to be really hard work because Peanut pulled her feeding tube out yesterday morning and since I would be taking it out tonight for pictures I decided to try extra hard in getting enough in her so that I wouldn't have to put the tube back in and take it back out and put it back in etc. Well, by the end of day I was completely exhausted and at the end of my rope, but we did it! Even though I gave her a wide variety of things and tried to give her a balanced diet, I know I can't do it this way all the time because I'm sure it wasn't everything she needed. We also had another appointment with speech therapy yesterday and she gave us some more things to try and work on so that we can get Peanut drinking enough on her own.

(Peanut's new favorite thing to do is ride on shoulders.)

She's just growing and changing so much! She can no longer be sat in one spot and be found in that same spot 10 min later. She still can't quite crawl forward but she maneuvers her way around in every other direction possible. I think it's almost time to baby proof the house. Oh, good times! She'll take a few steps while holding your hands and tries so hard to pull herself up on things. She surprises me with something new every day and I feel that if I blink I'll miss everything. Motherhood is definitely exhausting but totally worth it!

Last week our friends that moved to Washington last year were in town so we had a little BBQ with everyone in our backyard. It was a lot of fun and it made me realize how much I miss our get togethers/FHEs. I didn't get too many good pictures of the event before my camera died but the one above is of Shannon playing with Cody and Kristin's little boy and Peanut just enjoying the entertainment in the background!

Why I love my Hubby. . .

I was on the computer the other night checking my e-mail and since Luke was sitting right there playing the Wii I finally got the chance to ask him what this screen shot

was doing on my desktop. Most of you probably don't know that Luke "abandoned" me a while ago and made me get my own account on the computer. I was heart broken and the name on my account is "Abandoned Wife" - I like to give him a hard time about it. Anyways. . . That should explain why I was so curious to have this picture on MY desktop. So I ask him and he points to the little number of how many people are using Firefox to look at his website.

For those of you who don't know, Luke HATES Internet Explorer. I just had to laugh at the fact that he was so excited that he took a screen shot of it to show me.

Happy Birthday Krystal!

So, it was my sister's birthday on the 8th and I told her that I was going to do a birthday post to her and if she wanted to supply her own birthday pictures I'd use them. Well, two million years later she sent them to me! So here's the post. . .

They went to Chuck-a-Rama "so everyone could chose what they wanted."
I guess they have a balloon man there that made this crazy hat for her birthday.
They had a great time and I'm sorry I couldn't be there!

Love ya Krystal! Happy birthday and thanks for being the best sister ever!

Memory Tag

I got this off my friend's blog and thought it was a cute idea, so we'll try it out! This is especially for all you people out there who read my blog and never comment! You know who you are!

1. As a comment to this post, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, if we've actually met in person or not, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you!

Peanut the Clown

Peanut has this new thing she does and just thinks it's so funny! I'm not really sure how it started but she loves it when you copy her and do it yourself. She was doing it while eating last night so we decided to catch it on video. . .

She's becoming quite the show off and is really entertaining.

Busy, Fun-Filled Week

It has been quite the week! I'll see if I can catch you up. . .

First, I know you've all been waiting to see what the van looks like so here it is. . .It is really weird for me to be driving the van that has been labeled in my mind as GRANDMA's van for most of my life (it makes me feel really old) but I love it! It is so much easier to get Peanut in and out of and has been really good for my back!
Along with the van came lots of family time. My aunt and grandma were the ones to bring the van down because Grandma had a doctor's appointment. So we got to spend a little time with them as well as take them to meet my uncle and two of my cousin's cute little guys to take them back home. My mom was also in town and so my sister and her two boys came and played also. Peanut always loves this! Then my other sister came and stayed for a while and we got lots of MarioKart playing time in!
Peanut now loves her belly. It's wrestling time whenever she needs a diaper change or new pants. Most moms might hate this but I love it! I've been waiting for this day for so long that it's hard to get frustrated when all I do is laugh at her. It's the cutest thing to go into her room in the mornings or after nap time and she's on her belly at the end of her crib looking up at you with a binkie and a smile! Too cute! She hasn't figured out how to move forward yet but she can move in every other direction. She's also figured out how to go from sitting to her belly so I know it wont be long before she's ALL over the place! Now that, I think I can wait for.
We had a great 4th of July and LOVED having daddy for an extra day. For the 4th we decided to take the Wii down to Luke's work and play it on the big screen. It was awesome! We had Mark and Jen come play for a while then a little later had Krystal and Haini over. It was a blast! And we were so exhausted from tennis, baseball, driving, etc. that we decided to skip fireworks and just come home to bed. We're really gonna miss the Wii when we have to give it back.

Peanut loved all her new friends and has had so many people around to play with that this could be another long week getting her to play by herself again so I can get stuff done!
