Why

For those of you who don't know, my grandma is quite the poet. One of my cousins' daughter put a book together a while ago with about 100 of them and now there's probably that many more. She says she can't sleep at night so she just writes poems. My grandpa passed away when I was seven and so she's been alone for quite some time now. Anyways, my dad was up there bailing hay this last weekend and while he was there my grandma wrote this poem. I really liked it so I'm going to share...

Why

I woke up again this morning
With tear drops in my eye.
Just seems the nights
Are oh so short,
When you don't have much to do
But sit and think of days gone by
And my thoughts turn back to you.
You were the love light of my life
And some how still it seems
You're here so close beside me
Like the sunshine in my dreams.
I don't know what life's all about
As I sit here all alone.
But what I still can't understand
Why the master called you home.

Candy Factory Fun

Ever since I found out there was a candy factory in the area that gave tours with fresh samples I knew I had to go! We finally made it there this week! I don't know who the bigger candy fan is between Peanut and I, because I've always had quite the sweet tooth!
Peanut and two of her most favorite friends, Kate and Hadlee
So fun to have them come along!

Us and our goods

This was the good fun day that the wonderful parking ticket ruined! Fifteen buckaroos for 5-10 minutes extra! The worse part is that I sat locked behind the door as the officer was putting the ticket on our car. Boo!

Playing Catch-Up

I finally got around to downloading more pictures from our camera and while doing so I found a bunch of pics that got missed (due to busy/stressful life situations). So, mostly for journaling purposes, I played catch-up. I put the posts in their proper time frame so if you're interested in reading them here are the links...

Mini Family, Mini Outing, Mini Golfing

Since Peanut loves balls and throwing and hitting them we decided to go try some miniature golfing for Labor Day. She loved it! Didn't really get the hang of hitting her ball with the club but she never gave up trying!
She especially loved sending the balls down the 'wees' (hills).

Our cute little golfer who wants to wear her Elmo outfit everyday!
(It's either this or her Dora jammies)

An actual pic of the whole family! This hasn't happened in a long time!
