Where's Spring?

It's May 1st. And it's snowing. Nuff said.

My Little Model

Whenever I come with the camera and tell Peanut to smile she just cheeses up and giggles! It is so cute! -She has to be in the right mood of course. But she's still my cutest little model ever!


We went to the doctor yesterday and everything checked out well. She's still throwing up but that's just something we're going to have to live with 'til she fully recovers and starts to regulate the fluid in her belly. Her belly has gotten big and full of fluid again but we chose not to get it drained at this time because Peanut doesn't seem that uncomfortable with it yet. When it starts to really bother her or affect her breathing then we'll think about having it drained. But for now we're hoping that she'll get rid of the fluid on her own, well sort of on her own because she's still on Lasix. Even with all the throwing up she's not dehydrated and she's still gaining weight so the doctor's not worried about it. It's just a pain for me to be doing laundry 20 times a day. But all is well in Zion! ;)

I can't believe that she'll be turning one soon! It's gone by way too fast! I've started a list of things that we need/want to get her for her birthday...

1. Car seat upgrade
2. Shopping cart play cover
3. Fun toys that will help her "catch back up"

If anyone has any suggestions (like what car seat's the best, opinions on shopping car covers, or fun toys that your kids have loved and have been the most beneficial, etc.) we'd greatly appreciated them!

She really loves her cousin in the middle. He's always been able to get her to smile and laugh. And he is the sweetest little boy ever! When Peanut was in the hospital waiting for her liver transplant he offered to give her his! I don't think he really understood what that would entail but it brought tears to my eyes! He even bore his testimony the Sunday after they came to visit about how happy he was that he got to see his cousin and that she is feeling better. Too cute! We love you boys!

We have come to an agreement and decided that we will not make our blog private but in order for us to keep it public we will not be using our daughter's name, our last name, location, etc. and would ask that none of you include any of these things in your comments or when placing a link from your blog. Girls Weekend!

We had a girls weekend with all the girls from my mom's side of the family this past weekend and it was a blast! Soooo good for me to get away and not have to worry about Peanut's next feed/med/etc. Luke took care of her all by himself all day on Saturday! And did an awesome job!

Doctor Check-Ups

Just wanted to give a little update on Peanut since she had two doctor visits yesterday...

The first one was with her surgeon. He said that everything looks great and that his job is done. He also pulled out her JP drain! Yippee! One less tube to deal with!

The second one was with her GI/Liver Doc. Everything went well there too. Just some changes in meds and a discussion on her eating habits. She is now not interested AT ALL in eating! The little stinker! So we're checking into possible speech therapy three times a week but we'll most likely be dealing with the NG tube for quite some time. Since getting her to eat on her own is my main goal right now, I fasted for her five days ago and will probably be doing so again this next fast Sunday so if anyone wants to join me on this you're more than welcome to!

On a side note, my mom is up this weekend and brought some pictures of us all the night we spent in the waiting room for Peanut's transplant...

Luke's dad started out on the floor then later moved to another part of the waiting room where there was a bench.
(We pretty much found all the double chairs that didn't have an arm rest in the middle of them and moved them to our corner. This bench was the only one we didn't move.)

Jumpin' Peanut!

I was at Wal Mart the other night finally doing our much needed shopping and saw this "Johnny Jump Up" and decided to buy it because Luke's mom always talked about Luke and his "Jumpin' Johnny" and how much he loved it. Well Peanut must take after her dad because she absolutely LOVES it! It keeps her entertained longer than anything else! It's great! She loves it, I love it, we all love it! She even jumped herself to sleep the other morning. So cute!

I know that most babies are sitting up by themselves by 6-9 months of age. But if you think about all that Peanut has been through and the fact that she has had her belly cut open 3 times! Then you can be just as excited as we are that...

She can sit unsupported!!

We're Home!

Yes, finally, we're home! And boy is it GREAT! It's busy because I'm now the one who has to keep track of all the meds and stuff but it's just so good to be home that nothing else matters! And Peanut loves it too! She very much enjoys being able to play with all her old toys again! She especially loves the walker that I got from my sister. It has a little tray thing that we can put different toys on and she loves that because she can choose which toy she wants to play with and then after about 2 minutes she throws it on the floor and grabs another one. So cute!

I wish I would've got some other pictures of us leaving the hospital but taking pictures was the last thing on my mind! I just wanted to get out of there!

Peanut is quite the little chatter-box lately and she loves it when she can get your attention by making certain noises. You can tell that she just feels 10 times better than she ever has because she is just all smiles, giggles, and gabberings! She's starting to sit on her own but still hates tummy time. She has a long ways to go to catch back up from all that she's gone through but we'll get there! And I'm in no hurry cause I'm not ready to chase her all around. She can stay immobile for as long as she wants!

They're Saying Thursday!

So we MIGHT be going home on Thursday! Right now the doctors are just trying to get everything squared away and stabilized but they're aiming for Thursday.

Now I'm asking for help and this is a big deal because I never ask for help. Peanut's immune system is severely depressed and she needs a clean environment to live in. So, since we might be coming home Thursday, I will be going home Wednesday evening to clean and sanitize our house and would love for some help or it could be a very long process! I know this is short notice but if anyone who lives close by reads this before Wednesday evening I'd love to have you join me for my sanitizing fest!
