My Little Tomboy

What do you do when your little girl prefers...

Deigo to Dora
Mickey to Minnie
Bambi to Cinderella
Balls and blocks to dress up
Her ninja turtle figurine to her baby doll
Her boy cousin's hand me downs to her new pink outfits?

At least when watching Ninja Turtles she says, "More April!"

The Birth Story

I woke at about a quarter to eight to some contractions. I'd been having some false ones the past week so I wasn't too concerned. I started waking up more and decided to time them. By the time I realized they were regularly 5 minutes apart my water broke (8:20 am). It still took me a little bit to convince myself that I was truly in labor but by 8:50 we were headed to the hospital. Since my regular doc was suspended from the hospital I was supposed to deliver at and I'd be having someone I'd never met before delivering the baby we decided to go to the hospital closest to my Aunt's house. Good decision because we wouldn't have made it to the other one! I really wanted to just get to a hospital as soon as possible because the contractions were pretty strong and I wanted my epidural!! But once we got to the hospital the nurse somehow convinced me to do it naturally! Still not sure how/why I agreed but it ended up not being too too bad. In the moment I was cursing myself for not getting the epidural but afterwords I decided it really wasn't that bad because it all happened so fast. From beginning (water breakage) to end (Baby's entrance into this world) it was less than two hours! Totally makes up for the 37 1/2 weeks of suffering! ;)

Our Christmas Surprise

Santa delivered a cute little 5 lb 14 oz bundle of joy to our family this year...

I Wont Be Home 4 Christmas :(

My hopes of moving in before Christmas were in vain. We had some last minute problems with the loan but it should hopefully go through and be ready by the beginning of next week. So if that comes through and we can get the issues with the lawsuit in agreement then we should be moving in next week. Fingers crossed.

I had another doctors appointment yesterday and I only went from a 4 to a 4+ so my mind was kinda put at ease about having a Christmas baby. Doc says there's still a chance but probably only 10-20%. I can live with that. With my luck lately though I'll probably go into labor Christmas Day just because I don't want to. Haha My doctor is also 'suspended' until next Mon at midnight from the hospital that I'm supposed to deliver at so if I do have this baby before then it wont be my doc :(

Peanut also had a doctors appointment yesterday and everything looked good. They discontinued two meds and we are working on getting rid of one more in the next two weeks. Life is always good with less medicines!

There's your update for now! Hope everyone has a good Christmas and we'll continue to keep you posted!

Life's About to Get Crazy!

I've been really slacking in the picture taking department so I had to steal this family pic from Thanksgiving from Lindsay's blog. I'm amazed we got one with everyone looking at the camera!
We had a good time with lots of family and some visits with friends while in St. George for Thanksgiving. It's always good to go stay with my dad too - really hard to leave but always good to go! We spent Thanksgiving day with Luke's family and then had another Thanksgiving meal with my family on Saturday. Lots of good food and my weight gain showed it! Haha

The weeks following Thanksgiving have been full of doctor visits, tests for Peanut, and fun house stuffs. First the update on our house...Our final walk through is on Wednesday! And if everything goes smoothly we could be moving in this weekend! Craziness! There's been some problems between our horse neighbor and the city and our builder so that could delay things a bit but we're hoping not. It'd be great to be in before Christmas! And I'm just excited to move in and get settled so Baby A can come and cause problems on the outside instead of on the inside!

Speaking of Baby A...She's looking good and measuring about average and right around the same weight as Peanut. She's super active and likes causing havoc on my insides. At the beginning of the pregnancy I was saying that this baby could stay in there as long as she wants cause I'm not ready to have two kids but now that I'm experiencing all the fun last trimester aches, pains, contractions, pure exhaustion, head aches, and reoccurring morning sickness I'm so ready to get this baby out! Just not until we've moved!

And as for the Peanut...all the results from her CT scan, labs, and ECHO are all pretty much normal. The CT scan showed one small nodule but the doctor is not concerned about it and we'll just continue on with Acyclovir and continue to slowly lower her anti-rejection to see if her body can eventually kick this EBV. The labs have showed that the low blood sugar episode is not a long term adrenal insufficiency problem and that it was just from her body being stressed from something and her steroid dose not being enough at that time. Deosn't mean it couldn't happen again in the future but now we'll hopefully be a little more prepared to know what's going on and what to do and hopefully prevent it from becoming super serious. And last but not least her ECHO was completely normal so the clotted portal vein is not causing further problems with her heart. Good to know. We had a rough time with the sedation for that test though and it took Peanut a lot longer to fully come out of it and she threw up (at the doctors office none the less) quite a few times. Also good to know for next time.

That's all for now and as life could become really hectic in the next few weeks that could be all for awhile...

P.S.

I've been meaning to post an update on Peanut's 'status' but we're still waiting to hear from the doctor on her CT scan result and we'll be meeting with the endocrinologist and getting an echo on the 8th of Dec so you'll just have to wait 'til then!

In the meantime, I've had lots of people asking about baby names. Yes, we do have some we're contemplating and if you're interested, I've made a poll so that you can vote on which one is your fav. It's at the very end of our blog, so go vote away! And feel free to comment with any opinions, thoughts, feelings, etc. I really stress over naming someone and have been having a pretty hard time with this one!

Smile Moments

One night I was yet again relaying some of the cute things Peanut did that day to Luke when he told me I needed to be blogging them. Now I know I'm a pretty horrible blogger but the main reason I have it is to record events in our lives with some 'journaling' along the way. So why not try and 'journal' some cute stories about Peanut...

She talks in her sleep. I've noticed it almost from the day she was born! It's quite cute when I'm not trying to sleep! Lately (as in ever since our short hospital stay) she wont sleep in a separate room from us. Even if we do manage to get her to sleep in the bedroom upstairs she always ends up in our room before morning time. Or as in the case of the other morning when my aunt found her at 4 in the morning curled up in a ball on the floor next to their bed. So anyways, she's been sleeping in the playpen in our room so I've had the opportunity to hear her random ramblings. She'll often talk of herself, her friends, daddy or mommy (i.e. 'daddy whew' - another story to come) but the other night she must of been dreaming about a huge treat because she was saying in her cute two-year-old voice 'heavy, heavy, heavy treat, heavy treat, treat, treat, treat.' One day, when she's older, I'm going to try the old trick of getting her to carry on conversations about all the secrets she's hiding from me!

She's a big helper and especially likes to help empty the dishwasher, sweep the floor, clean the bathrooms, and do the laundry. Which would all be great if the dishes were actually put where they're supposed to go, if the floor actually got swept and not just brushed around, and if she didn't completely cover the bathroom wall with windex spray and then try to clean it with one little square of paper towel!

The only thing she'll eat right now is mac and cheese which wouldn't be okay with me if the way she said/asked for it weren't so darn cute! I don't even know how to type it up. I'll have to try and catch all her made up words on video someday. She really does have her own words for lots of things. We could even make a pretty good sized 'Peanut Dictionary.' We don't always know where she gets them from but at least we've figured out what she's trying to say!

Everybody whews. When Peanut has gone 'number 2' or even toots she says, 'Oh Kykaw whew.' And if she hears anybody fart she'll say their name. i.e. 'Oh daddy whew.' And sometimes randomly she'll go through what we call the 'whew list.' Daddy whew, Mommy whew, Kykaw whew, Bahka whew, Bobbie whew, Paul whew, Cake (her friend Kate) whew, Mase whew. It's pretty much a different list of people every time but we've concluded that if she likes you and knows your name then some time or other you'll make it on the 'whew list.'

If there's more than one of anything there's always two. If there's a picture of five doggies she'll point and say 'two doggies.' And her counting goes something like this 'two, tree, two, tree' with some random numbers and sometimes letters in between.

She's currently obsessed with shoes. She even wants to wear them to bed! I'm thinking it's because she finally knows how to put them on all by herself but either way everytime I turn around she's all of sudden wearing shoes (luckily usually always on the right feet!)

She loves to 'bowl.' Wii bowling that is. (She's actually pretty good too.) Except that she'll bowl about 2 or 3 times and then she just wants to watch us bowl (for hours!) Whenever she's asking to bowl and I deny her and tell her that maybe we'll do some bowling when Daddy and Robbie get home from work, the first thing she'll ask her dad when he gets home is if she can bowl.

She's at such a fun age! I love it! I've been feeling pretty sick in the mornings (completely off all meds! but paying for it I guess) so I've been feeling bad and like I'm missing out on some great times of her life but I'm still greatful for all the fun times we do have and just to have her cute little personality around.

Family Picture Sneek Peek

We FINALLY got around to taking some family pictures (now that I'm all fat and preggo!) I've had the outfits since September! I gave up on scheduling a photographer and we just went out with our friends who have a nice camera and they snapped some pictures of us and we snapped some pictures of them. Best idea ever! It was great! (And FREE!) Here's a couple of my favorites...

Saved the best for last...

Families are Forever

We had some really good lessons in Sunday school and Relief Society on Sunday. I'm grateful it was my week to stay after sacrament (we've been taking turns staying home with Peanut again since it's flu season). The majority of what the lessons were on was temple work, sealing power, and forever families. I've always had a testimony of it all but it was just a good reminder that I will be with my mom again. I'm grateful, also, that my whole family is sealed and 'bonded' for eternity. It's such a comfort to me in this life. And now all I can do is to try and raise my children right so that when the day comes they too will choose to partake of the blessings of the temple.

(This picture is of Peanut and her cousin at the St. George Temple. I love it! And hope that Peanut will continue to 'look to the temple' and make it a goal to go there someday)

Happy Halloween!

Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Donatello (Raphael coming soon)
Peanut didn't want to wear her mask until we told her she had to wear it if she wanted to go get treats. After that she didn't fight it at all!
She's a shy little thing (wonder where she gets that from! hehe) so she would just barely whisper to the people at the door. But as soon as we were walking to another house she would loudly proclaim that she wanted 'mo treat.'
Cutest thing on earth! Pictures just don't do it justice! I just couldn't get over how adorable she was as a little ninja turtle.
Halloween is so much more fun with kids!
